Calvin and Hobbes ran for just ten years, from 1985 to 1995, during which time its creator, Bill Watterson, was at the receiving end of a torrent of fan mail from all corners of the world. Although an intensely private man, he replied as often as he could, and he did so in style. It was on 31st December 1995 that the last strip was published, at which point Watterson asked his publisher to stop forwarding the fan mail—and in an instant, this magnificent stationery was out of a job.
Huge thanks to Mike for sharing both letter and envelope.
Calvin and Hobbes is a classic.
That's great!
